We designed artek.fi's digital home based on Alvar Aalto's maximes for Artek products: It is transparent, adaptable and pays utmost attention to detail. It is innovative in form and line, while remaining stubborn where required. In this sense, it is a digital product for and by Artek. The website presents the product catalogue and offers extended editorial content.
The website's visual design was conceived as a system of interlocking spaces. Modules are combined to introduce both horizontal and vertical movement, structuring content and providing visual rhythm.
We have enjoyed the privilege to contribute to Artek's continuing legacy in a small way. In dialogue with Artek's team, we have developed a digital language that complements its measured humanistic approach to all things.
